The Council on Nursing and Anthropology (CONAA) is an organization of nurse-anthropologists who meet twice each year, once at the Society of Applied Anthropology (SfAA) meetings in the spring, and once at the American Anthropology Association (AAA) meeting in the fall. For the past three decades, CONAA has gathered nurse-anthropologists under the umbrella of the Society of Medical Anthropology (SMA). CONAA's mission is to explore culture and client care, the teaching of culture, and the preparation of nurses as culturally competent caregivers.

European Transcultural Nursing Association
Transcultural Health is patient-centred care requiring knowledgeable, skillful and culturally sensitive health professionals who are able to take into consideration the values and believes of patients who are from different cultural backgrounds when planning care. The delivery of cultural competent care requires a commitment from health professionals to understand and be responsive to the different needs of culturally diverse patients to ensure the best possible clinical outcome.
ETNA is striving to address these needs and to support health professionals in managing diversity in health care.
